Now the Compliance and Enforcement Legislation, under the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Act 2012, is in full swing, to date the response has been as expected.
We have those who were prepared; those who thought, let’s wait and see; and, those who never gave it a second thought. Thankfully, most in the Transport Sector understood the ramifications if they did nothing.
WARTA, in conjunction with our partner LATUS – Logistics Risk Solutions, have been finalising the ‘next step’ for Industry who are keen to present a professional image and can honestly say, “We have taken reasonable steps to comply with the Legislation”.
In mid-June, the first Industry Group finalised their ‘Code of Practice’, which is best summarised as a voluntary guide which identifies appropriate and effective practices for their particular sector. Additionally, it is also used to achieve compliance under the WA Traffic Laws including Compliance and Enforcement provisions…
